The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, also known as PCSO is a government-owned and controlled corporation of the Philippines that is mandated to do fundraising and provide funds for health programs, medical assistance and services, and charities. In the early 1990s, a commercial was made, showing PCSO helping the survivors of the Mt. Pinatubo Eruption last 1991 which was unsettling to viewers that time due to its plot.

Premise

A damp white cloth was shown then there are people in the back of the cloth, struggling to get out, similar to a United Nations PSA.[1] A broken glass transition and sound effect was heard. What is shown next is a black and poorly lit background with Mt. Pinatubo survivors looking at the camera. What follows is random videos of the eruption and people of PCSO helping the survivors. The survivors, who are now smiling and on a side-view camera and with bright light was shown at the end.[2]

Availability

The ad was aired on IBC-13 during Top 10 Best Movie Trailers Of The Week, along with Fake Doomsday PSA and presumably aired starting on 1991 until 1992.[3] However, the commercial is yet to be found.
