Status: Partially Found

"Yureru Shima no Tatakai! Dojoach VS Namazun!!" ("Battle of the Quaking Island! Barboach VS Whiscash!!") was intended to be the 375th episode (AG101) of the long-running anime series Pokémon. The episode saw Ash and the gang traveling to Jojo Island (en route to Sootopolis City Gym) and getting caught in the middle of an earthquake caused by the titular Whiscash. They later meet up with a trainer named Chota, who assists them in subduing the volatile Whiscash.[1]

Cancellation

The episode was scheduled to air in Japan on November 4th, 2004, but was pulled from broadcast less than two weeks before that date following the 2004 Chuetsu earthquake. It was initially marked as "postponed", but was eventually cancelled outright and marked as "discontinued". Considering how Japan feels about alluding to atrocities, even indirectly, the episode will likely never be released. The only footage of the episode available is a short preview video that was released prior to its cancellation.

This episode shares the reputation of being one of four Pokémon episodes to have never been released, the other three being "It's New Year's Eve! Pocket Monsters Encore" and "Rocket-dan VS Plasma-dan!" two-part episode.

Notably, the moves Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude have never been used in the anime since the event.
