This series of concerts was called "Concerts for the people of Kampuchea". Queen's performance (which opened the concerts) is only partially available in video form.

This was Queen's last 70's performance and Freddie Mercury's last performance before his long mustache era (6 years) began. Everything about this gig was amazing: the setlist, the energy of both the band and the audience, Freddie's amazing vocal range (which, by the way, was at it's worst point during a Japan tour earlier in the year); This concert was the true essence of Queen.
==Background==
Then United Nations secretary-general Kurt Waldheim approached Paul McCartney in the hopes of staging a reunion concert of The Beatles to raise funds for citizens affected by the wars raging in Cambodia under the reign of Pol Pot.<ref>[https://huffingtonpost.com/hirad-abtahi/the-paul-mccartneyunited-_b_11285850.html Huffington Post article discussing the events.] Retrieved 03 Mar '18</ref> McCartney was put off by the idea of reuniting the group, though, and he instead organized a chain of concerts with appearances of such notable musicians and acts as Queen, The Who, Wings, Elvis Costello, The Clash, and others.

The concert was filmed (and presumably broadcasted), and audio from the concert was also recorded by the audience, many consider this to be one of the most well-known Queen concerts recorded on video.
The concert was filmed and broadcast on BBC 1 and multiple audio recordings were made by audience members that have since appeared on bootlegs.

But despite it being enormously well-known by almost every Queen fan, the recording of this concert is incomplete; lacking parts of some songs, some of which don't even appear at all, it even begins with the whole opening song (a Jailhouse Rock cover) literally ending.

==Availability==
Despite the concert being very well known, for the longest time, bootlegs didn't account for much of the concert; some songs were only partially available, and others were missing in their entirety.

To make it more clear, here's the setlist for the concert, with (*) being the songs that are partially missing, and (**) being the songs that are completely lost. Notice that by partially missing, it's not that they're missing just a bit of the song or even half of the song, but almost the entire thing.
Not all footage is available. ''Jailhouse Rock'', ''Mustapha'', and ''Bohemian Rhapsody'' only have a few seconds of video. However, audio sourced from audience recordings do exist.<ref>[https://www.queenlive.ca/queen/79-12-26.htm A site that lists various bootleg releases.] Retrieved 23 Jun '19</ref><ref>[https://youtu.be/5dc7s8SQWc4 The best-known audience recording of the show.] Retrieved 23 Jun '19</ref> There is one official release of this concert, however, it's not a video release and it only has ''Now I'm Here''.<ref>[https://www.discogs.com/Various-Concerts-For-The-People-Of-Kampuchea/release/1624120 Discogs listing on "Concerts For The People of Kampuchea" vinyl.] Retrieved 31 May '19</ref> Though multiple videos are being used in documentaries (primarily ''Don't Stop Me Now'') the chances of one soon are very good.

A photo taken from the concert.

Status: Partially Lost

On December 26th, 1979, a series of concerts were held at the Hammersmith Odeon in London, England for the benefit of the victims of war-torn Cambodia. This series of concerts was called "Concerts for the people of Kampuchea". Queen's performance (which opened the concerts) is only partially available in video form.

Background

Then United Nations secretary-general Kurt Waldheim approached Paul McCartney in the hopes of staging a reunion concert of The Beatles to raise funds for citizens affected by the wars raging in Cambodia under the reign of Pol Pot.[1] McCartney was put off by the idea of reuniting the group, though, and he instead organized a chain of concerts with appearances of such notable musicians and acts as Queen, The Who, Wings, Elvis Costello, The Clash, and others.

The concert was filmed and broadcast on BBC 1 and multiple audio recordings were made by audience members that have since appeared on bootlegs.
