A fan's depiction of what Sonic Jr. would have looked like.

Status: Lost

After the release of Ecco Jr. for Pico and Genesis, SEGA announced other games based on younger versions of its characters. Amongst those announced was Sonic Jr.

Sonic Jr. was to be a Sonic the Hedgehog title for the SEGA Pico, an educational console. The game was announced at the same time as the release of Ecco Jr., and the game would have likely been similar in concept. However No more "Jr." games were ever released after Ecco Jr. Whether the eponymous Sonic Jr. was a new character (Likely Sonic's offspring) or simply a younger version of Sonic is unknown, nor the adventures he would have embarked on. As of right now it isn't even known if the game made it off the drawing board. In the end, Sega instead released Tails and the Music Maker and Sonic the Hedgehog's Gameworld.
