Status: Cancelled

Sonic The Hedgehog: Awakening is a cancelled video game in the popular Sonic The Hedgehog franchise that was in development sometime between 2006-2009, and cancelled at an unknown date.[1]

Currently, there are no known screenshots, videos, or even concept art for this game, which would mean that the game must have been cancelled very early into development. The only known official mentioning of this game is that it is credited on Pete Capella's website, who was the voice actor for Silver The Hedgehog from 2006 to 2009.[2] This would imply that the game was far enough into development to begin work on voice acting, but there is no evidence to support this theory. However, it would be odd for Pete Capella to credit a game he did not work on.

Fan Speculation

This has led people to speculate that the game was going to be centered on Silver, as no other voice actor from the Sonic franchise has been credited for this game except for Pete.

Another common speculation is that the game was going to tie into 2006's Sonic The Hedgehog (aka Sonic '06) in some way, seeing as that title was Silver's debut game, and the reason for the game's cancellation was due to the poor reception of Sonic '06.
