Spider-Man is a 2002 American superhero film directed by Sam Raimi, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name and the first installment in the Spider-Man trilogy. The film stars Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker, a high school student living in New York City, who lives a double life as a vigilante: Spider-Man, after developing spider-like super powers. Spider-Man also stars Kirsten Dunst as Peter's love interest Mary Jane Watson, Willem Dafoe as Norman Osborn, the secret identity of his foe Green Goblin, Rosemary Harris and Cliff Robertson as Aunt May and Uncle Ben, James Franco as Peter's best friend Harry Osborn, and J. K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson, the editor-in-chief and publisher of the Daily Bugle.

Deleted Scenes

Before the hallway fight, Peter apologizes to Flash for accidentally spilling food on his back at the cafeteria. It can be found on the leaked behind the scenes video on Dailymotion and YouTube.

  • Wrestler Spider-Man's second glove

Peter puts his second glove on while he's running to find his uncle's killer. It can be seen in the Costume Test featurette on the 2nd of the DVD as the green screen shot.

  • Peter Designing Spider-Man costume

Before the city montage scene, Peter started designing the Spider-Man costume in his room. It can be seen partially also on the Suit Up TV spot and the photos.

  • Stan Lee Cameo

Stan Lee had a different cameo from, originally having to ask Peter to buy sunglasses and reference the X-Men, another Marvel property that had a film produced. However, it was mentioned in the 2002 Documentary video "Stan Lee's Mutants, Monsters, and Marvels."

  • Times Square Kids

  • Extended & Alternated Norman's Troubles Scene

An alternative scene of Norman talking to his mask by saying "God! It's true." was filmed but cut from the film, the only footage of it can be seen is by the blooper reel on the DVD.

Availability

On September 18, 2011, a YouTube user named spideytoyfan uploaded the 2001 E3 trailer called Spider-Man 2001 unseen teaser trailer !". The trailer was seen at the E3 Entertainment Expo. The trailer only includes a few snippets of the deleted Web Shooters scene.

On November 13, 2015, a YouTube user named KillerPunkSuperMario UNCENSORED uploaded a video called Spider-Man Web Sizzle Trailer. The trailer included a snippet of the deleted Web shooters scene. Mindd Kidzag was thanked in the video description. [1]

On November 20, 2015, a YouTube user named Spider-Man Deleted Scenes (a.k.a SuperMomo_01 Jr.) was joined on the site. The user made fan-made deleted scenes videos to give Sony Pictures the idea about the possible extended cut for the film.
