The Actress is a 1928 silent film.[1] This film was directed by Sidney Franklin and starred Norma Shearer, Owen Moore, and Gwen Lee. [2] It was first released in the USA. The film follows a theatrical troupe in London who loses their leading lady when she decides to get married.[3]

The film is noteworthy for being among the several film adaptations of the 1898 play Trelawny of the Wells by Arthur Wing Pinero.
