History

In September 2005, in a joint venture between Comcast, NBCUniversal, PBS, and HIT Entertainment/Sesame Workshop, PBS Kids Sprout was launched on Comcast and later other cable/satellite providers. The 3rd and the final host was Nina, aka Michele Lepe and stayed host until 2017.

Season 3 Premiered on December 18th, 2006, Season 4 Premiered on a Monday sometime in mid-late 2009, Season 5 started airing on November 7th, 2011, when it changed to the You & Me Tree theme, Dropped the Crafts/Goodnight Gallery segments & Added the Sandy Stories segment, and then the slightly tweaked Version of Season 5 Premiered on August 27th, 2012; star's puppet design has been changed several times and Lucy the Firefly is now only seen in her fully animated form for the rest of the show's run, season 6 premiered on Monday, July 27th 2015 where the You & Me Tree was tweaked, Nina's best day ever book is now an element of the show they use to tie into the episode's theme, and Nina's uncle is finally revealed for the first time in several episodes.

The big differences between the earlier seasons and the later seasons is that starting in Season 5, the setting of the show changed to the You & Me Tree. "Goodnight Gallery & Crafts" segments were removed for mostly unknown reasons. The smaller portion of the episode where Nina would ask a question and the kids would give their responses in seasons 3 & 4 was completely revamped into an entire segment for seasons 5 & 6 where star would have a conversation with several kids, mostly about the topic of the episode. The Moonbeam Wheel changed from spinning a color & the game they played was revealed on flashcards up until season 4, to having pictures of the games on the wheel itself for season 5 but completely scrapped on the 6th and final season. and on the original tv airings, the pajanimals lullaby song would play before the hush poem/goodnight song; this was later changed to playing after some time during the 5th season but may have been completely removed when the 6th season started airing.

Periodicity, they would do live episodes like The 2011 Halloween episode “A Sweet Goodnight Treat”, The 2009 Mothers Day episode or the 2014 Space Episode when Astroblast first premiered.

On the 6th and final season of The Good Night Show, Award-winning actor, activist and artist Esai Morales who is best known for being in the biopic La Bamba, Lt. Tony Rodriguez on NYPD Blue, Camino del Rio in the Netflix original series Ozark, and in the HBO series The Brink, joined the cast and played the role of Nina's Uncle known as Tio Javier in several episodes, but since season 6 is nearly completely lost it is currently unknown which episodes, he appeared in.[1][2][3]
