The Nutshack was an animated sitcom created by Ramon Lopez and Jessie Hernandez. Produced by ABS-CBN International and aired on Myx TV in the United States and Myx in the Philippines, it is notable for being the first animated series made for Filipino-Americans. The series concerns the daily lives of the Filipino-American Phil, a native to San Francisco, and his cousin Jack, a Filipino immigrant, as they have numerous crude encounters across the fictitious Daily City. The series ran for two seasons, one in 2007 and another in 2011, before being cancelled.^[1] The show would end up gaining an ironic following in mid-2016 due to its theme song being commonly used in video game music parody tracks by the YouTube channel SiIvaGunner.

Plot

The Nutshack follows two cousins named Jack and Phil as they live with their Uncle Dick in The San Francisco Bay Area. Horat, one of Phil's many creations also accompanies the duo throughout their crazy and crude adventures.^[2]

Broadcast History

The Nutshack aired on Myx TV in the US and the Philippines from April-September of 2007, where it received mostly negative reviews. The show would air on MYX in the US on Wednesdays at 10:00 PM PST with re-runs on Friday and Sunday nights at the same time slot.^[3] The second season of The Nutshack would also air on MYX but only in May of 2011. Due to the fact, the show aired on an obscure network in the US and the fact it was panned for its animation and crude humor, The Nutshack did not air again.

Availability

In 2014, Season 1 was uploaded to YouTube through and Season 2 clips resurfaced on Vimeo. The entirety of the second season, in addition to the first season, can be viewed on Tubi through an account until 2019. The first season is also available on the MyxGlobal channel outside of the Philippines.

-As mentioned by a few people in forums and Reddit, There possibly seems to be a lost Filipino Dub for this show. This is either rumor or actual lost media. The show originally had a website during it's original run until 2013, an Japanese site using the same host name took over the site. On May of 2017, The site was again shut down and is a possibility of it coming back or not. An archived version of the site exists, but most of the data (.pngs/.gifs and video files) is missing.
