Before the movie "The Ring" came out in America, there was a large amount of hidden advertisements through random websites. This ranged from information about the characters, to knowledge about "the tape" itself.

These websites can easily be found on the Wayback Machine's web archive service, but not everything had been snapshoted. This includes three teaser videos that were hosted on the sites Sadakoisdead.com and Samaraisdead.com

Sadako1.mov This video is said to have been an abstract video, although it's contents aren't exactly known. It is said to have a running time of around 30 seconds.

Unknown The title of this second video isn't known. It's been described to be another, even more abstract video than Sadako1.mov. However, it's also been said to include spoilers of the movie.

Bloody1.mov The third video is the most recalled and most notable video out of the three. It contained a man with a knife, stabbing himself in his mouth, as if he was brushing his teeth with it.
