The Wonderful World of the Dinosaurs (also known as The Enchanted World of the Dinosaurs and עולמם הקסום של הדינוזאורים in Hebrew) is an animated TV series that aired in Israel in 1994, and supposedly consists of 13 episodes.

The show aired on Channel 6, otherwise known as the Israeli Children's Channel.[1] It was produced by the Italian animation group Gruppo l'Arca di Noe in 1993. Contrary to speculation, the animated series was not produced in Israel.

Premise

The plot follows two mice named Claudia and Tati. They own a magic book that takes them into a world of dinosaurs. In the final episode, they witness the dinosaurs' extinction.

Resurfacement

On the Israeli cartoon forum Oldtv.co.il, many users seemed to recall an animated show about dinosaurs called The Wonderful World of the Dinosaurs. People recalled characters such as a blue dinosaur with sunglasses that could fly, the two mice, and more.

Clips of the show were discovered on old recordings of the Israeli Children's Channel, albeit very short and without sound.

Availability

Up until recently, only around 9 seconds of the entire show has been found, including three seconds of the intro, and six seconds of various clips of the show. It is unknown which episode(s) they are taken from.

On July 17th, 2019, a user on Big Cartoon Database discovered a Korean blog which uploaded the first four episodes, dubbed in Korean, revealing its entire opening sequence and the original full title: Tete' e Clodoveo nel Fantastico Mondo dei Dinosauri. which translates to Tati and Claudia in the Wonderful World of the Dinosaurs.[2] A video which only shows the opening and closing credits was uploaded on YouTube the same day. A playlist which had twelve of the thirteen episodes was available on YouTube but it has since been deleted. However, the first four episodes remain available on the Korean blog.

Trivia

  • While in the Israeli dub one of the mice is named Claudia, in the original, Clodoveo is a male given name, which implies that the character changed genders for international broadcasts of the series. The same might be applied to the Korean dub, since both mice are voiced by actresses.
