Undergrads (stylized as underGRADS) is an American-Canadian adult animated series centered on the lives of four college undergraduate freshmen. The series lasted 13 episodes, airing on MTV from April 22 to August 12, 2001, and later on Teletoon in Canada. The series was co-produced by MTV with Canadian animation studio Decode Entertainment.

MTV airings

When Undergrads first aired in the United States, the series featured songs by popular recording artists from the 1990's and early 2000's. Most, if not all, of these songs were replaced on later airings and when the series was broadcast internationally. Daria, Beavis and Butt-Head and Clone High are three other MTV animated series that had most of their music replaced.

According to the Belgian music rights society SABAM, "One Step Closer" by Linkin Park was featured in episode 4, "New Friends". SABAM's database listed this episode as an "undistributable work", as its distribution details were unavailable.[1]

According to the Internet Movie Database, episode 5, "Drunks", featured the following songs: "Butterfly" by Crazy Town, "I Am the Bullgod" by Kid Rock, "Rock and Roll is Dead" by Lenny Kravitz, "Music" by Madonna (listed as "Hey Mr. D.J", which is the opening lyric to the song), "Pinch Me" by the Barenaked Ladies, and "Everlong" by the Foo Fighters.[2]

On Canadian and international broadcasts, the series featured songs by indie rock and Canadian artists, as well as a few cover versions of songs from the 1980's. Those songs are the only ones that were listed on the series' official website.[3]
