White Sessions (found Regina Spektor recordings; 2005-2009)
Regina Spektor is an indie alternative (“Anti-Folk”) singer-songwriter and pianist born in Moscow, Russia, and later had to emigrate to the United States from the Soviet Union in 1989 during the “Perestrokia” period.
Today, she has released seven full length albums (most notably Soviet Kitsch and Begin To Hope), and has sold thousands of CDs, DVDs, and vinyl records. She was nominated for a Grammy in 2014 for her theme song “You’ve Got Time” in the hit Netflix show “Orange Is The New Black”, and is greatly compared to the likings of Björk and Joni Mitchell.
On April 5th, 2005, Regina recorded 4 tracks for "The White Sessions” in Boston, Massachusetts, which included Bobbing For Apples, Sailor Song, Down The Road and Up The Hill (now titled “Open”), and Time Is All Around. [1] The 2005 session can be easily found on the table below.
On the other hand, Regina recorded 5 tracks for The White Sessions again in 2009,
in support of her new album Far at the time. The songs were Blue Lips, Wallet, Folding Chair, Genius Next Door, and Laughing With. The recordings are no where to the be located online, only on a very rare and very hard to find unofficial “Les Inrocks, The White Sessions” CD by french bootleg, unlicensed music label Sangatte Records.
