Status: Partially Found

Wonder Momo: Typhoon Booster was a mobile game developed by WayForward Technologies and intended to be a sequel to Namco's 1978 beat-'em-up arcade title Wonder Momo after the character's success in comics and animation circa 2012 to 2014. The game was released on March 27th, 2014 for the Google Play Store and the macOS App Store, but both versions were eventually removed. According to forums and mobile game review websites, the game ran at $14.99 on both platforms.[1]

Plot

The game's plot revolved around Momoko, the daughter of Momo, who aspires to become an idol and musician. These plans are put on hold, however, when an alien named Glooder lands on earth and gives Momoko a power orb, allowing her to transform into the superhero Wonder Momo and save Japan from a Waru invasion.[2] While primarily being a beat-'em-up game in function, not unlike its predecessor, the game also featured mini-games and bonus features such as a UFO Catcher game called "Momo Catcher", a collection of art and music and two-player co-op.

Availability

The game's sprites were ripped by Spriters Resource user TeridaxXD001 from 2015 to 2017.[3] Several screenshots and more detail regarding gameplay and plot can be found on the website MobyGames, added by user Sciere.[2] Other high-definition promotional images can be accessed via WayForward's official website in their announcement of the game's publication.[4] The website APKMirrorFull claims to have a functional APK file of the game, but it is unknown if the file is functional.[5]
