To coincide with 2012's massively successful Marvel film ''The Avengers'', the now-defunct THQ was granted licences to created a '''video game''' based on said movie. Allegedly, the game was in development for 18 months before it was canned in August of 2011, due to the financially struggling THQ having to close their branch. Playable levels would include The Battle of New York, The Helicarrier, and the inside of an alien mothership. One screenshot features Captain America fighting against the Skrull, a prominent alien species in the Marvel comics not featured in the movie. | To coincide with 2012's massively successful Marvel film ''The Avengers'', the now-defunct THQ was granted licences to created a '''video game''' based on said movie.
