The Cartoon Works was a flash game available on the CBBC website between 2008 and 2011, it was created by Complete Control with the intention of creating an immersive experience that allowed players to interact with characters from their favorite TV shows.

The game was set in the eponymous Cartoon Works, with players starting the game as a Trainee and with the goal of earning points. After accumulating enough points the player would rank up earning a new job title, the main goal of the game was to earn enough points to become the boss of the factory.

The game was officially shut down at the end of 2011 and has been unavailable ever since. While archives of the CBBC website from when the game was running do exist via the Wayback Machine, the game itself is completely inaccessible.

Minigames

Players could explore the factory to access several minigames, each based on an aspect of producing a cartoon. These included:

  • Think Tank
  • Colour Cannon
  • Boss's Lobby
  • Quality Control
  • Printing Press
  • Cutting Room
  • Sound Machine
  • Goods Out
