While the majority of the 2000-2006 anime series Hamtaro has surfaced (in both its English and original Japanese dubs), one episode called "The Warm Scarf-capade" remains a mystery, as little to no information is known about it, and it was never included on any English Hamtaro home video releases (nor was it ever broadcast in any English speaking countries).

The episodedid, however, show up on the 2007 Hamtaro Season 4 Malaysian VCD release, though said VCD is now out-of-print and, unfortunately, very hard to find.[1] While the VCD is cited as having English audio, it is unknown if this mysterious episode was ever actually dubbed in English, and as such, it may have simply been included with its original Japanese audio (though until someone with a copy of the VCD comes forward, we can't be sure). Curious fans continue to seek the rare VCD, with the hopes of unearthing the elusive episode.

This episode is most likely not real. Proof of this is that the list on Yes Asia skips the episode "Laura's Valentine"; also, an image showing the back of the season 4 VCD shows "Laura's Valentine" and does not show this one.

So the episode is actually available in the original JP dub?

Malaysian VCDs probably aren't a bastion of correct information. But if anyone is in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore, look through the stores/markets where they sell DVDs or video CDs. It's bound to show up at some point!!

I don't think it's real, to be honest. It might have been a proposed episode or an episode where the title got changed and the Malaysian VCD makers never got the memo... as opposed to a spooky, mysterious episode that may or may not exist. :P

As someone said on the old wiki, I'm pretty sure this was a proposed title name for Episode 72, "The Knitting Craze". The English version of Hamtaro has a couple title variants for episodes. And as someone who is a huge fan and collects the dubs of the series, whatever anyone said about this "lost episode" is probably false. Plus, Ham-Ham Paradise (a Hamtaro fansite) has episode copies from this particular VCD. There was no lost episode on it and all of them were the Blue Water/Ocean Productions English dub with hardcoded Malaysian subtitles.

Thank you! I thought this was extremely unlikely. Can you provide the Ham Ham Paradise website link?

That was me who said that, actually! That was mostly speculation on my end, but whoever brought this page onto this version of the wiki pointed out that there's a discrepancy between the episode list printed on the VCD and the listing on Yes Asia's website (this "lost" episode is listed in place of Laura's Valentine) I'm sure I said this on the old wiki, too, but Yes Asia also once had a listing for a Sailor Moon game on the Wii that doesn't exist, so it's not as if Yes Asia is free of errors!

Here's some links:

The official English website's summary of Laura's Valentine https://web....sode_83.html Ham Ham Paradise fansite: http://hhp.icy-mint.net/

if you look on the Japanese episodes page....episode 72 is called the Warm Scarf Mission, and in the English dub it's called Knitting Craze...maybe the episode titles were entered into the site's description box out of order?

My guess is that it was that it was a planned episode, but it was cancelled. Before word could get to the VCD producers, the sleeves were already printed out. Rather then printing new sleeves, they just used the old ones and figured no one would notice
