Stop Making Me Cry is a placeholder name of a snippet of an unidentified song posted on Watzatsong on December 18th, 2023, by the user pilo.

Backstory

The song was first uploaded on WatZatSong by the user pilo, on December 18th, 2023.[1]

On April 26th, 2024, the OP, pilo uploaded the 1 minute and 6 seconds snippet to Vocaroo in response to an angry comment on the post by the user BASTARD. The user had provided details that he had recorded it off FM radio around the years of 2001-2002, and that it isn't recorded off a CD but a cassette tape.[2]

Lyrics

The lyrics most commonly agreed upon are:

You know that I love you

And I just don't know what I can do

You break my heart in two

I wanna take you in my arms when I'm feeling down

Tonight, we're gonna do it right

Stop making me cry

In my heart, I never let you down

Always by your side

Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah

You know you drive me crazy

I wanna be your baby

Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah

I know I would be happy

If I could be your lady

Theories

One theory said the song was Made Me Cry by Madison Avenue but was proven to be false.

Another theory said the song was "Drive Me Crazy" by The Shakers. This was thought to have been debunked when a song of the same name was found on a Russian site, but was not truly debunked until user murphy on the Fond my Mind Discord server found a 30 second snippet of the song on a French site then the full track on YouTube.
