Created in 1983 by Dan Salel, Le Piaf was a French canary character who always wear sneakers appearing in a series of postcards and will later appear in all sorts of products like backpacks and cups [1]. In 1987, a series of animated cartoon shorts were produced by Walt Disney Animation France (also known and formerly known as Brizzi Films) and CDC Films, each running about a minute and a half [2]. They mostly consists of the very surreal and bizarre misadventures of the titular canary. About 200 cartoons were produced, some of which are viewable on the internet.
