"Friends in Low Places" is a country first recorded and released by Garth Brooks. The song reached #1 on the Hot Country Songs,, and has became one of the most iconic songs of its genre.

Background

"Friends in Low places" was composed by Bud Lee and Dewayne Blackwell in 1989. The duo meet Brooks while he was an unknown musician working as a shoe salesman; at this time, Brooks was preparing to release his first album. Impressed after observing Brooks' singing abilities, the duo would frequently recruit him to sing lead vocals when producing new demos.
