In 2002, Project Aces, a design team made by Namco that worked on the Ace Combat franchise, was developing a game titled Xevious. The game was based on the arcade game of the same name and was to use an engine similar to the engine used in Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies. The game was scrapped due to shift efforts into developing Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War. A minute-long video was uploaded showcasing the game when the Project Aces Facebook account reached 5000 followers. Aside from this trailer, the game was never released and no additional information has shown up since.
