Status: Partially Found

The 2022 presidential campaign of the then-running Philippines president candidate, Bongbong Marcos, began on October 6th, 2021, when he filed his candidacy for the 2022 Philippine presidential election. Bongbong Marcos, a former senator of the Philippines from 2010 to 2016, is the son of former president and dictator Ferdinand Marcos.

Despite losing in the 2016 Philippine vice presidential election and his subsequent electoral protest, Marcos expressed his interest in running again for a national position in 2022. After being nominated by several parties, Marcos officially announced his candidacy on October 5th, 2021, and filed his candidacy a day later. Marcos later selected the then-mayor, Sarah Duterte (the daughter of then-president Rodrigo Duterte) as his vice-presidential running mate. An electoral alliance for their campaign called the "UniTeam Alliance", was formed on November 29, 2021[1]. Their campaign was officially launched on February 8, 2022 at the Philippine Arena.

Description

The Miting de Avance of Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte were held three venues in the Philippines: in Guimbal, Iloilo on May 3rd, 2022;[2] in Tagum City on May 5th, 2022;[3] and in Parañaque on May 7th, 2022[4]. The event was extensively covered by the SMNI News Channel, a channel owned by the company of founder and pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, who openly supported Marcos and Duterte[5].

The event usually starts with band performance, then the senatorial candidates would spoke for their respective platform, the vice-presidential candidate, and concludes with presidential candidate.

In Parañaque Miting de Avance, celebrity figures were also present in the event such as Brod Pete, Andrew E., Ai-Ai delas Alas, Bayani Agbayani, Karla Estrada, etc.

Availability

The live coverage of Miting de Avance campaigns was extensively aired on SMNI News Channel and throughout their social media platforms such as YouTube and Facebook Live. However, the full copy of Miting de Avance was lost due to the termination of both of their social platforms.

On July 7th, 2023, YouTube terminated the channels of SMNI and one of its programs, Laban Kasama ang Bayan (transl. Fight with the People), along with KJC, following a previous ban on Quiboloy's YouTube channel which was terminated on June 21st. Google later stated that their actions were in compliance with existing sanctions by the United States FBI against Quiboloy pursuant to the US Global Magnitsky Act and harmful misinformation regarding red-tagging.[6] On September 15th, 2023, the SMNI News Facebook page was deleted, in accordance to Meta's Dangerous Organizations and Individuals Policy.[7]

However, some users were able to record the live coverage partially. Ed Archives by AlbaChannel uploaded a 3-hour copy of the event but the part where Duterte and Marcos gave their speeches was not recorded. Other users managed to record the speeches of Marcos and Duterte partially.[8]
