In 1996, the Swedish punk rock record label, Birdnest, decided to shoot a low-budget Spaghetti Western movie starring some of its bands and various (at the time) famous Swedish actors (including future minister of culture Alice Bah Kuhnke, who was better known as a late-night television host at the time.) called The Return of Jesus, Part II. The film's soundtrack was to be performed by the bands that were signed to the label, and the leading role was played by Lena Endre, who would later be known for her work with Ingmar Bergman and in the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo movies.

Various economic and creative differences plus increasing economic difficulties for Birdnest, caused the film to drift into distributive limbo. It is known that it was shown for the first time in an indoor football stadium in 1996 and that there were talks about showing it on public television, but that it didn't pan out. According to a 2016 article[1], the film was slated for a re-release in 2016, but nothing more has been heard since.

The official soundtrack is still available for purchase from Birdnest's homepage to this day[2]. A short exposé on the movie by Swedish television is available on YouTube by YouTube user RollingRock Videos.
