N    07:58  Lynching Scene: A Genuine Lynching Scene (lost film of alleged legitimate lynching incident; 1897) diffhist +21,744 SpaceManiac888 talk contribs (Seeing how Drowning Scene has gotten some attention, let's talk about the International Film Company's other tasteless production. Remember, this occurred back in 1897 when lynchings were sadly extremely common, and the film industry loved exploiting this. Personally, I think the film is a complete fake designed to lure in unsuspecting viewers, but with it being lost, one cannot say for sure. Still, at least the company was ethical in its marketing... by claiming it as "one of the most thrilling and realistic scenes ever offered to the public." Very "sharp and clear" indeed.)
