Doraemon is a popular and long-running anime series based on the manga of the same name by Fujiko F. Fujio. Its best-known adaptation originally ran from April 2nd, 1979, to March 18th, 2005, while a reboot, that began airing a month after the first series' conclusion, is still airing to this day.

A TV special titled Dora・Q・Perman!(ドラ・Q・パーマン) was aired as part of the first Spring special of Doraemon in 1980 alongside the first specials which introduced Dorami to the 1979 series. ^[1] This is the only time non-Shin Ei anime adapation voice cast members for charcters in Perman and Q Taro are present in Doraemon with the 1967 and 1965 theme songs of each respective series playing in the special.

Plot

The plot of the special closely follows the manga version (mostly drawn by Shinoda Hideo instead of Fujiko F. Fujio).

Doraemon is fed up with Nobita not doing his homework and uses the Disaster Training Machine on him. Once it fails, he goes to search for others in a similar predicament who happen to be Perman and Q Taro, they then decide to go camping together alone. However, the people (Mitsuo's Copy Robot, Nobita and Shota) they had scolded earlier use the Time Machine to complete their homework and unleash the Disaster Training Machine on them instead and destroy everything around them.

After this, Doraemon, Perman and Q Taro cry out their partner's name and say they should not have done such a thing. But are interrupted by Nobita turning the machine off and are relieved that everyone is safe.

The special ends with all the characters as well as Doronpa, O-Jiro (from Q-Taro), Boobie and Perko (from Perman) all joining the camping trip.

Availability

On 19 October 2018, a short version of the special which was aired in 1985 ^[2] was uploaded onto Youtube, lasting around 7 minutes and 35 seconds which excludes many scenes from it.

The full version of the special is currently still lost though fragments of it exist in advertisements for the larger special it was part of and from other media. It is unknown if this version or the short version recieved home media releases.
