In 2009 British rock band Fightstar performed a live cover of Grandaddy's 'AM 180', for Colin Murray's show on BBC Radio 1. It was aired Monday 13th April between 22:00 and 0:00. The band also performed 'The English Way' and 'Mercury Summer' from their upcoming album, Be Human, which was released one week later.

For several years the 'AM 180' cover could be found on Youtube, but at some point it was deleted. At one point it was also available to download on the now defunct fightstar.com forums.
