Jurassic War (partially found French-Korean animated series; 2002)
The Jurassic War (also known as Wars of the Jurassic Period) animated series was made in 2002 with joint efforts of “RGP France” and a South Korean studio “Raon Pictures”[1] (라온픽처스), directed by Lee Ki-young (총 감독) and Regis Ghezelbash, a person later on known in France for his work at building bridges with other countries professionals.
It is a series about the girl Niu who lives in the Jurassic Period of history, when dinosaurs were alive (and talking), — the princess of her small elf tribe, gifted with the connection to magical powers. She's going on a quest for elemental relics with the aid of a silent boy Zar and a cowardly dinosaur Imp to stop the villain who wants to steal them first for their power. Niu is quite arrogant and bossy because of her royal blood, but she has to learn to respect nature and people around her to succeed in her quest and save her home from evil.
Production
The show was loosely inspired by a game titled “Jurassic Wars 2”, called by some “a StarCraft with dinosaurs”. The French studio was sponsoring the main production for the series (25% of overall funds) and responsible for distribution in Europe, while the Korean studio was working on the product itself.
- General director: Lee Ki-young (총 감독).
- Supervision: Jeong Se-young, Hong Jin-seong, Kim Hyun-dong.
- Producer: Lee Sang-joo.
- Chief Designer: Shin Byung-cheong.
- Designer: Kim Do-sik.
- Music/Sound Director : Lee Young-bin.
Availability
Only 12 original episodes are available to view on the web.
The English dub, that was supposed to be aired in North America by the distributor company “Moonlight” in 2003[2], seems to be lost, though there are numerous reports that some kind of dub existed one time on CD-discs. Thanks to the reddit user Ghaz_23 the episodes 13 and 14 that were distributed in Malaysia are found (see the table below).
The Russian professional dub, on the other hand, is fully available on the web. See the corresponding section below.
Episode List
Episodes were around 12-minutes long. The names of episodes are going to be in Korean and translated to English (note that the exact names of episodes in English dub currently stay unknown).

Russian dub
Войны Юрского периода (The Wars of the Jurassic Period) is an official Russian dub of the French-Korean joint produced series “Jurassic War” (쥬라기원시전). It's notable for being the only version of the series that is freely available on the web for its entirety.
“Insomnia World Sales” (France) had the rights reserved in 2005. It was distributed on DVD by “Hits for Kids” in Russia, and by ИНТЕР-ФИЛЬМ in Ukraine (with Ukrainian subtitles)[3].
Availability
As of 18th of April 2024, Russian dub is available on YouTube in its entirety, but only the first episode contains intro. There is also no outro for episodes, but the menu for choosing an episode featured the 35 seconds hip-hop remix of the intro song on loop. One can also spot the difference between the original Korean title for the episodes and Russian translation. There were three DVD's, each featuring a part of the series, sold separately[3]. Probably later on was released one-disk edition with all of the episodes.
26 episodes last for around 11 minutes each. In the dub you can still hear the Korean voice actors, but the voiceover is of good quality, done by professional actors. The table below contains links to each episode.
