Talking Tom Cat 3 (found Chinese bootleg game based on "Talking Tom" series; 2012)
Talking Tom Cat 3, also known as 会说话的汤姆猫3 or Talking Tom 3 In Olympics, was a Chinese bootleg game released by developers NanJing oooo3d. The game was very notorious for being a ripoff to the Talking Tom series, since the gameplay was extremely similar to the original Talking Tom games and assets being stolen. It was unknown when the game was made, likely 2012, since the game featured a reference to the "Gangnam Style" dance, which was popular at the time. Sequels were planned, but were later cancelled due to the developers being sued by Outfit7 in 2013.[1] It was also notoriously known for a being disguised as a software worm going by the name of Gooligan that collected data about devices, installed rootkits, stole the player's Google account and aunthentication tokens, injected itself to Google Play and installed fraudulent apps.[2]
Gameplay
The gameplay was reskinned off of Talking Tom 2, but Tom was recolored, the background was changed to a running track with various flags and there were different modes, including a sports quiz and the "Gangnam Style."
Availability
The only known thing about the game for a while was it was a ripoff to the Talking Tom games. Various gameplay videos were available to watch on YouTube, and an APK wasn't dumped, until May 10th, 2024, where Internet Archive user kirbs311 would dump an APK of the game into the Internet Archive.
