The Andy Milonakis Show (found original broadcast closing audio of MTV sketch comedy show; 2005)
The Andy Milonakis Show was a sketch comedy show airing from 2005 to 2007 on MTV2, created by Jimmy Kimmel and its titular comedian Andy Milonakis. The show stars Milonakis and a variety of cast members being featured in obsurdist and humorous sketches.[1]
Ending Sequence
When the first season of the show was released on home video on March 27th, 2006, many of the songs featured on the soundtrack of the show when it initially aired were removed and replaced with generic in-house songs, likely due to licensing issues.
The most notable of these songs was featured during the closing sequence, which depicted Andy riding his dog Wubbie in a variety of green screen environments while Green Day's American Idiot plays in the background. The home media release had omitted Green Day from the soundtrack entirely and replaced it with a generic rock track instead due to the preestablished issues mentioned above.[2]
Availability
The original closing audio could not be found online for many years, as only original MTV2 airings would've featured the music. On September 6th, 2021, Lost Media Wiki user Halofan found three variations of the closing sequence from the TV broadcasts, all using American Idiot as the closing track.
