Tony Hawk's Shred Session was a free-to-play mobile game for iOS and Android. Developed by Big Bot and published by Activision, the game was an endless runner mobile game and played a lot like other big mobile games such as Temple Run. Tony Hawk's Shred Session had a soft release on May 22nd, 2014, but was later cancelled and pulled from the Android Marketplace and the App Store due to poor reception among fans and critics of the series.

The 2010s saw an increase in popularity of mobile games. In October 2013, Tony Hawk stated that he was ready to take on the mobile world and work with Activision to make Tony Hawk video games for mobile platforms.[1] In February of 2014 on his SiriusXM radio show, Tony Hawk had confirmed that a new Tony Hawk game was in development.[2]

A soft launch for Tony Hawk's Shred Session was released in May of 2014, launching in select territories around the world. and never saw a full release. Tony Hawk's Shred Session was panned by critics for repetitive gameplay. In November of 2014, Tony Hawk announced that Tony Hawk's Shred Session was going to be postponed indefinitely while focus shifted for development of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5.[3][4] After this announcement, the game was delisted from the Android Marketplace and App Store.

Tony Hawk's Shred Session played a lot like the popular mobile game Temple Run. Players would control a skateboarder and do various tricks down a continuous hill while trying to avoid obstacles that could derail the player. As the player did tricks, the score of the player went up.
