In 1998. Big Idea partnered with the STARS Organization (Students Taking a Right Stand) to release VeggieTales content for public schools. These were known as the "Classroom Editions" and were made with the intent to teach students good character traits and civic virtues. Three episodes of the show were edited to replace references to Christianity with secular dialogue either by cutting the dialogue in question or having the actors re-record those lines. The only other difference with these versions is the addition of a silly song at the end of the episode. In total four episodes were produced on VHS and distributed by STARS with each tape coming with a study guide and coloring page.

The tapes were later re-released on DVD in 2006 under STARS 'new name The National Center for Youth Issue.

All four episodes were uploaded online between 2020 and 2021 but have been blocked by NBC Universal. Three episodes have since been rediscovered and uploaded to Archive.org leaving The Story of Flibber-o-loo left to be found although various clips from the episode can be found on the internet.
