Status: Partially Found

Arwin! (also known as Housebroken) is an unaired spin-off of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, which was a popular Disney Channel sitcom. Produced by Walter Barnett and directed by Richard Correll, Arwin! was one of two proposed spin-off shows for The Suite Life of Zack and Cody that was pitched to Disney. Instead of having Dylan and Cole Sprouse (Zack and Cody), the series would have had Brian Stepanek reprise his role as Arwin Hochhauser, who was going to live with his sister to help her take care of her kids. An entirely new cast of characters would have also stared in the show with the most notable being Selena Gomez. One episode was filmed, but Disney ended up not picking up the series.

Background[edit | edit source]

As The Suite Life of Zack and Cody was nearing the end of its run on TV, Disney was looking to expand on the success of the series through spin-offs. Two spin-off pilots were made, one being Arwin! and the other being The Suite Life on Deck. The pilot of Arwin! was filmed in 2007 with the episode titled Housebroken, but Disney did not like it as unlike The Suite Life on Deck, Arwin! did not feature Dylan and Cole Sprouse (Zack and Cody). Disney figured that audiences wanted a spin-off of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody that featured Dylan and Cole Sprouse.[1][2][3] Before the show had a chance to air, the Writers Guild of America strike on television the 2007 Writers Guild of America strike happened, which effectively led to this show and many others being canceled.

Plot[edit | edit source]

The plot of Arwin! revolved around Arwin Hochhauser (Brian Stepanek) as he moved out of his mother's house and into his sister's apartment to help her raise her children.
