On December 1979, a series of concerts featuring Queen, The Clash, The Who, etc. were held at the Hammersmith Odeon in London, England; for the benefit of the victims of war-torn Cambodia. These series of concerts were called "Concerts for the people of Kampuchea".
Background
The events were organized by Paul McCartney and Kurt Waldheim to raise funds for the citizens who were affected by the wars raging in Cambodia as a result of the reign of Pol Pot.[1]
The concert was filmed and broadcasted on BBC 1, and multiple audio recordings were made by audience members that have since appeared on bootlegs.[2]
Wing's performance on December 29th would end the group's final tour and mark the group's final concert.[3]
