Rabid Child (partially found They Might Be Giants music video; 1985)
They Might Be Giants is a rock band which first debuted in 1982. Despite their struggle to fame, the band became a cult classic following tracks on their self-titled and second album They Might Be Giants. Among these tracks was the track Rabid Child, a relatively short song compared to the others on that album.
Music Video
Recorded at an unknown date, a music video for Rabid Child was recorded. The music video consisted of John Flansburgh , one of the main band members and vocal for Rabid Child, singing into a camera and hugging unto a wall. It also featured some of the other band members standing around wearing masks and John Linnell, the other main band member, in the back wearing a 'carpet hat' playing the accordion.
The music video was recorded in Flansburgh's apartment with a cheap video camera.
Availability
The music video, while not released in full, had a couple seconds of it shown in the documentary about the band Gigantic: A Tale of Two Johns. The clip was only included as a compromise with producer Aj Schnack after he tried to fight to get the music video included as a bonus feature on this documentary's disc.
"I promised fans that I would ask John and John about including the full piece and I was quickly (but politely) laughed out of the room (or would have been if we had been in the same room)."
