TreasureBear ( Cancelled PC Game )
TreasureBear was a humorous retro style puzzle platform game, about a bear who teams up with a mimic chest in a quest for gold, from canadian developers Bear & Boar.
Not much its own about it other than what was announced on its kickstarter, the game was to feature feature references to pop culture references such as a boss called Mary Crate and Ash Lee.
It's kickstarter campaign started in November 9, 2013 and ended on January 4, 2014 unssuccesful to meet its goal.
two Demo versions were release however they are currently lost.
Gameplay
The game was set to be a puzzle platformer where you are able to perform various moves to maneuver around your environment. your objective was to collect coins and various other precious materials. The game also feature naval battles, where you're able to customize and upgrade your ship however not much is known about that.
Demo
There were two demo versions released, an extremely early version was posted at FurAffinity before the launch of the kickstarter, it featured a small area where you could move and collect coins and a possible battle with Mary Crate and Ash Lee, however that's unconfirmed. The second demo was released during the kickstarter showcase, it was supposedly a later build but not much is known about it, it was sent to youtubers to help advertise the game but the videos can't be found anymore.
Trailer
A trailer for the game exists in the official Bear & Boar Channel on youtube, along with a few songs from the game.
Kickstarter
The game failed to meet it's goal on kickstarter in January 2014, it's especulated that this happened due to a bad timing since the kickstarter ran in holiday season.
Bear & Boar
the team behind the game is also responsible for the comics from the tumblr Pizza-omelete, which occasionally makes surreal slice of life comedy comics and used to post a self made variation of a Sonic macro where sonic is saying: "Alone on a friday night? god you're pathetic." using various art styles.
