BabyFirstTV is a popular TV channel for children below the age of 3 years old. When the channel launched in 2006, 36 shows premiered alongside it, one of them was known as Smile [1].

Plot

An archived page for the show on the BabyFirstTV website goes as follows:

When a parent watches their child smile, it is a priceless moment that deepens the precious emotional bond they share. Everyone has their own unique way of expressing happiness and their own distinct smile which they can call their own. This series shows young viewers the virtually infinite ways happiness is expressed through smiling. With countless smiles laid out against a background of soothing colors and a relaxing soundtrack, “Smiles” is sure to bring a bright and happy ending to parent and baby’s day.[2]

As usual for BabyFirst's nighttime programming, Smile was basic. It allegedly featured videos of children smiling while the intro which was instrumental featured objects smiling with the show's name[3].

Availability

Smile aired regularly on BabyFirstTV for 7 months until it was pulled from BabyFirst's schedule in December of 2006, sometime after December 6th, 2006, for unknown reasons. It could have likely been pulled due to it not being that popular for the viewers. Dougie in Disguise, another show that was airing on BabyFirstTV, was also pulled from airing around this time.[4]

Possible Leads

The only likely possibilities of it being found is it being on a VHS tapes or a TV recording from the 7 months it aired in. On November 23rd, 2023, a YouTube user named Johany Aguilar uploaded a video claiming to be from Smile, however the footage was taken from the BabyFirst Night Symphony DVD released in 2008, the footage is likely not from Smile due to it not featuring children smiling, rather sleeping[5]. In June of 2024, a user on the BabyFirst Fandom Wiki claimed to have owned a VHS tape from July of 2006 containing footage of Smile but the VHS tape was broken in December of 2018 because the VCR tried to eat their tape.[6] It is currently unknown if BabyFirst has an archive or some place to store their old shows and they have never been contacted on this matter.
