People's Television Network "Ang Network Para sa Pilipino" (partially found station ID for Filipino TV network; 1995-1998)

Status: Partially Found

In 1995, the People's Television Network changes its logo displacing its 1989 "4" logo with a flying bird over the "PTV" letters with the slogan "Ang Network Para Sa Pilipino". There are three IDs was made for most of the period, the most abundantly played version from 1995 to 1996, the Summer Olympics version in 1996, and the Philippine Centennial version from 1997 to 1998.

Long Version

This version begins with the group of birds flying over El Nido and the sun, the Philippine flag is shown with the 3 CGI birds with the bird picked the white ribbon from the Sun, the next images showing the Rice Terraces in Ifugao, and the Mayon Volcano in Albay representing the Luzon island, then a bird picked the red ribbon, with The people climbing in the trees, Magellan's Cross in Cebu City, and Bohol representing Visayas, then a bird picking the blue ribbon, with the Vintas and the Muslim worship house in Zamboanga (with a Muslim female dancing) representing Mindanao are shown, the second part merging the 3 birds in the sun background, along with images of the Lapu-Lapu statue in Cebu City, The Gabriella Silang Staute in Makati City, the Bonifacio Monument in Caloocan, the statue of GomBurZA (with the "P" flying), the Pio Del Pillar Statue in Makati City, the statue of the Assassination of Sen. Ninoy Aquino (with the "T" flying over), a shot of the EDSA People Power Monument, and the Rizal Statue in Manila (with the "V" flying over), The last images showing PTV text is flying over the images of an athlete and a troop of soldiers and images of people appears on the Philippine flag, as well as the skyline of EDSA-Ortigas timelapsed from day to night with the bird flying over. The last scene in the ID features the logo and the text "People's Television Network" appears with the text crossfades to the slogan. The ID also has a long theme that ending with the jingle was which saying P-T-V, Ang Network Para Sa Pilipino is heard.

Short Version

The shorten version begins with the bird flying over the a shot of the EDSA People Power Monument, then, the PTV text is flying over the images of an athlete and a troop of soldiers. Then, images of people appears on the Philippine flag,. The last scene in the ID features the logo and the slogan. The jingle was also saying P-T-V, Ang Network Para Sa Pilipino and is heard throughout the ID.

1996 Summer Olympics version

The station ID was revised with the last frame showing the pictograms related to sports and the Olympic rings then the "Atlanta 1996" logo appears on screen along with the voiceover (Brian "Dr. Buddy Brian MD" Bhavani) saying "PTV, Ang official at exclusive Philippine Broadcaster ng Atlanta Centennial Olympics".

1997-98 Version

The station ID was revised again with a countdown towards the June 12th, 1998 centennial on the days leading up to the centennial. Then, the same ID from the first version was played but the last scene reveals the National Centennial Commission-authorized Philippine Centennial logo and the words "National Centennial Broadcaster" appears on the top of the logo and appears on a light blue background.

Availability

The IDs had appeared in different versions. The normal ID was played between 1995 and December 31st, 1996, while the the 1996 Summer Olympics version was played between January 1 to August 5, 1996, and the National Centennial Broadcaster version was played between January 1st, 1997 until mid-1998. All of them are played before the program starts along with the OBB Bumpers for the program the channel was broadcasting. Philippine Television Archives uploaded a part of both the 1995-96 version & the 1997-98 Centennial version in June 2021. dnvincete was first uploaded the long version (1996 Summer Olympics variant) way back on July 24, 2019 as a partial clip, while YouTube channel and archivist UndustFixation recently found the full 1996 Summer Olympics version of the ID in May of 2024 and was premiered on July 28th, 2024. The 1997-98 Philippine Centennial version and the 1995-96 normal version of the ID was has not yet resurfaced.

Trivia

• The ID was won in the 1996 PMPC Star Awards for Best Station ID.
• In February 2016, clips from this ID was used for the special EDSA Revolution 30th Anniversary ID.
• Some images are used in the long and short versions of the ID are from the television commercials for Philippine Airlines, a local flag carrier.
