On the weekend of May 5, 2007, WNBC revives the ever popular "We're 4 New York" ad campaign, for the first time in 5 years. In the same year, a set of promos related to the campaign, featuring Alexis Kalehoff along with several of the station's on air talent, NBC personalities, and other celebrities.[1] Also in August of 2008, during the 2008 Summer Olympics, a set of news promos, also known as "We're 4 New York Everyday" was also aired. The song promos was lasted until August 2008 in the wake of the station's controversy involving the Lead America informercial in March of the same year, while the "We're 4 New York Everyday" promos were lasted for 4 months until November 2008.

Variants

Each promo features the ever familiar "We're 4 New York" campaign song, written by Julie Gold and composed by Edd Kalehoff. The jingle has used with the vocals, the other was an instrumental piece.

First Verse

The commercials features the first verse of the song, set to the footage of people working in NYC. The chorus of the song was also heard, and the song was joined by the station's on air talent, NBC personalities, or other celebrities doing the song. The song's lyrics was said was said to be like this:

The 15 second version of the commercials features the last line of the chorus of the song with the station's on air talent, NBC personalities, or other celebrities joining the singing of the song at the start of each promo, the line "For the thrill of being number 1, We're 4 New York!" then ends the promos.

Chorus (Legal ID)

The legal ID version of the commercials features the line "We're 4 New York!" is heard throughout, then the station's on air talent, NBC personalities, or other celebrities ending the ID saying their spoken words.

Availability

The promos is frequently played on WNBC at the end of every newscasts, but it is also aired during commercial breaks of NBC programming and syndicated programming, with the legal ID version was used before every program, and it also used after local commercial breaks of NBC programming (mainly during Sports programming, Qubo block, and on late night programming), all from May 5, 2007 until August of 2008. In May of 2007, WNBCHD4 uploaded the promos featuring the campaign, with most of the videos were deleted in 2008. YouTuber Vlad Florestal uploaded the 1st "Chorus :30" variant on June 19, 2007.[2] On February 17, 2010, the generic version of the First verse variant was uploaded by YouTuber TellyFarnsworth[3] Then in 2009, NewYorkWebcast uploaded the First Verse and Chorus Variants of the promo. YouTuber Leicester Elline Cruz uploaded the 2 "Chorus :15" variants on January 23 and April 22, 2013, followed by the 3 "First Verse" variants on February 20, 2013, June 12, 2013 and February 5, 2014, and the 4 "Chorus Legal ID" variants on March 14 and 16, 2023 and on May 12 and 13, 2024. YouTuber NYNewsWatch meanwhile uploading the "Chorus :15" variant on February 2, 2013. Steven Walsh uploading the "Chorus" variant on June 2, 2024. On March 14 and 15, 2023, YouTuber OptimumPx uploaded a commercial compilations shown during a broadcast of NewsChannel 4 at 11 Weekend, Saturday Night Live and It's Showtime at the Apollo to their channel. Among the commercials featured was the 3 "Chorus Legal ID" variants, which can be seen below. On May 6, 2024, on the day after the anniversary of the revival, YouTuber Officialzpd uploaded a commercial compilations shown during a broadcast of Larry-Boy Adventures and Wimbledon 2007 match, featuring the 1 "Chorus" and 2 "Chorus Legal ID" variants. Prior to this, on April 27, 2024, the uploader uploaded the full June 6, 2007 broadcast of NewsChannel 4 at 11PM, with the "Chorus Legal ID" variant was among the commercials featured prior to the broadcast.
