Mini-Putt was a golf game developed by Artech Digital Entertainment and released by Accolade for home computers in 1987. In 1991, the game was ported to the Family Computer in Japan by a company called A-Wave, and was planned for release in the United States the same year by JVC for the NES, but was cancelled for unknown reasons. The game was featured in Nintendo Power, Electronic Gaming Monthly, and other professional magazines, and received a high rating in a review in the February 1992 issue of GamePro.

On August 2, 2024, LMW user Bro3256 inquired on the game in the Hidden Palace Discord. Frank Cifaldi of the Video Game History Foundation would then post the ROM shortly after. Bro3256 then uploaded the prototype ROM to Hidden Palace[2], making it available.
The prototype ROM was dumped sometime in 2002, but did not surface publicly for 22 years. It is currently unknown which specific prototype cartridge the ROM originates from.
