In the fall of 2002, the BBC debuted Ace Lightning, a childrens' series following the adventures of British teenager Mark Hollander, who comes across a nonexistent seventh level of Ace Lightning and the Carnival of Doom during a lightning storm, after which the game's characters come to life and before long, Mark becomes Ace's sidekick and his whole life changes.
The series was a huge success that lasted for two seasons, with only the first airing in the United States. In fact, the BBC even went as far as to plan a third season that was never produced. Things are unclear as to whether the BBC will ever revive the series and produce this third season.
