Status: Lost
The Frozen Star is a Swedish Western movie from 1977 directed by the infamous Mats Helge Olsson, Swedens uncrowned master of b-movies. Apparently it was so infamously bad even by his standards, that a total of four people saw it during it's debut: Two teenagers, a reporter from the men's magazine "Se" and the cinema janitor.
Plot
"A young stranger, Willy, comes to a neighborhood dominated by the gunslinger Bart. He falls in love with the prostitute Rose, who is protected by Bart.
Willy is chased away but returns with several men and settles the score with Bart's gang during a shootout in a saloon. Bart falls in the battle." [1]
Beyond that, the film supposedly contains a great number of continuation errors and other mistakes. In one supposed scene a sign can be seen reading "Dalton Jail." Above it, a smaller sign reads "horseback riding for tourists" since the film was shot on High Chaparral, which is a chain of Western-themed amusement parks in Sweden. Audio mixing is also apparently hilariously bad. One scene allegedly features a man hammering nails into a plank of wood, with the hammer blows still clearly audible in the background for several minutes after him stopping and walking away.
Current Status
The movie is completely lost and has never at any point been released for home video. Rumors are that the tepid critical response embarrassed Olsson, and he had all copies burned.
