Konami stated in 1990 that they experienced a computer crash and that they cannot release the port of Contra to anywhere else other than the locations where they already published to people for testing, an estimated 14 people have allegedly recieved the DOS port of Contra.

Contra is a popular game made by Konami for Nintendo Entertainment System and Arcade in 1987, but Konami originally made an MS-DOS port of the game which was lost over time, but due to it's obscurity, we do not know if it existed.

MS-DOS is more than just capable of running 8-bit games, so Contra could have been made for DOS, furthermore, Konami stated that they made Contra more stable and smooth to run on MS-DOS with controls better than on the NES.
