Wii Sports title screen.

Status: Lost

In May of 2006, a demo titled Wii Sports was shown live at E3 for Nintendo's new console, the Wii. The games shown were Baseball, Tennis, Golf, and Airplane (Airplane never made it to the original game, but was included in Wii Sports Resort). Development of early demos likely started in 2005.[1] The demo shown is very different from the released version.

Availability

To this day, the original prototype hasn't leaked online. It's very likely it hasn't been played by anyone since 2006. Videos from E3, as well as a lot of leaked screenshots, can easily be found on the internet, but no rom of the original prototype have been found. There appears to be at least three prototypes, one appears to be an early concept using Mario characters, later replaced with original characters which seem to be early concepts for Miis. The other prototype is the one shown at E3. After that, there's a post-E3 prototype, which is very similar to the released version with some slight differences.[2]
