Status: Partially Lost

The Wacky World of Tex Avery is an American animated series that was a homage to the works of legendary animator Tex Avery. The series featured 7 revolving segments: the titular Tex Avery segments, which centred on the adventures of a cowboy; Pompeii Pete, about a Roman centurion who has adventures in the modern world; Einstone, following a caveman who is an inventor; Genghis & Khannie, involving a lion warlord and a panda; Freddy the Fly, in which the titular fly bothers a billionaire named Amanda Banshee; Maurice and Mooch, concerning a chicken and a fox; and Power Pooch, regarding the adventures of a superhero dog.

As was typical of a syndicated children's series at the time, 65 episodes of the show were created and aired. On streaming services such as Tubi TV, only 52 of these episodes are offered, with the last thirteen episodes not being included.

Availability

According to Platypus Comix, episodes 53-65 first premiered in the spring of 1998 and never appeared anywhere else after the syndication run of The Wacky World of Tex Avery. For example, when the television network This TV ran the show, only 40 of the 65 episodes were run.[1]

Note

  • It should be mentioned that the Power Pooch segment in episode 54 "Power Puppy" isn't lost, as it was added in episode 22 to serve as a replacement for "Fly like A Beagle", a previously lost Power Pooch segment which was removed in later releases.
