Lightsaber Escape is a Chrome experiment developed to tie in with the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The player attempts to fight their way through Stormtroopers with a lightsaber that is controlled via their smartphone. The game was shut down sometime in 2017.[1]
Gameplay
Lightsaber Escape is on-rails. Movement throughout the world is pre-programmed, while the player uses their phone to control a lightsaber and deflect shots from Stormtroopers back at them. If the player is hit too many times at once, the game ends, and the player is given the chance to start over.
The player drops down into a hallway and is met with a single Stormtrooper. This corresponds with a stoppable tutorial on how to play the game. The player then advances down the hallway, making three stops as they use the lightsaber to deflect the Stormtroopers' shots back at them. The player then reaches a door, where the final stage of the game is loaded.
The player then reaches a hanger and defeats a final wave of Stormtroopers before reaching a troop transport. They engage in a duel with a riot control trooper. After the final trooper is defeated, the player is shown their total play time and is given an option to share their time on social media.
