After the first game was released in 2002 to great success, plans of a TV adaptation of the series was in the works. The series was going to be directed by Seth Kearsley who developed a pilot to pitch the show to Disney Channel. The network rejected the pitch worrying that the premise was too dark for it's audience.[1]
