Created in 1983 by Dan Salel, Le Piaf was a French canary character who always wore sneakers appearing in a series of postcards and would later appear in all sorts of products like backpacks and cups.[1] A series of animated cartoon shorts was produced by Walt Disney Animation France (formerly known as the Brizzi Brothers Studio or Brizzi Films) and CDC Films, each running about a minute and a half.[2] They consist of the surreal and bizarre misadventures of the titular canary. About 200 cartoons were produced, some viewable on the internet. The show aired in 1987 on Canal+, then rebroadcast in Avant l'école in 1989 on TF1 and in Cellulo on La Cinquième, Canal J and France 3.
Premise
Le Piaf, an all-yellow bird, finds himself in burlesque situations in a world without much scenery, grappling with everyday objects.

Out of the 200 shorts produced in this series, 53 are viewable on the internet in varying quality. Some high quality, some low quality, some partial, and the case of the ones uploaded on the official Le Piaf YouTube channel have their original audio missing. It's currently unknown if more shorts will be found from this series.
