Fairest of the Mall is a 2014 Disney Channel pilot created by Scott Thomas and Jed Elinoff, known for being the creators of Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja and Best Friends Whenever.

The pilot, starring Lauren Taylor and Landry Bender, was rejected, and not a single piece of production material has ever surfaced from it.[1][2]

Background

On June 10th, 2014, it was announced that Disney Channel had greenlit a new comedy pilot: Fairest of the Mall reportedly centered on a teenage girl who, after losing her job at the mall's hottest clothing store, can now only find a job at the tech store filled with nerds. Scott Thomas and Jed Elinoff reportedly penned the script and served as executive producers. After this, the pilot was never mentioned again by Disney, and was presumably rejected.

The last time the pilot was ever acknowledged was by Lauren Taylor, who said in a 2015 interview that the chemistry she and Landry Bender had on the Fairest of the Mall set was what got them the lead role on Best Friends Whenever, and that Gus Kamp also had a role in the pilot.
