Le Piaf (partially found animated short series; 1987)
Created in 1983 by Dan Salel, Le Piaf was a French canary character who always wore sneakers appearing in a series of postcards and would later appear in all sorts of products like backpacks and cups.[1] A series of animated cartoon shorts was produced by Walt Disney Animation France (also known and formerly known as Brizzi Films) and CDC Films, each running about a minute and a half.[2] They consist of the surreal and bizarre misadventures of the titular canary. About 200 cartoons were produced, some viewable on the internet. The show aired in 1987 on Canal+, then rebroadcast in Avant l'école in 1989 on TF1 and in Cellulo on La Cinquième, Canal J and France 3.
Premise
Le Piaf, an all-yellow bird, finds himself in burlesque situations in a world without much scenery, grappling with everyday objects.
