The Last Guy Everywhere was a promotional web browser Flash game created by Dentsu Inc. to promote the 2008 PlayStation 3 title The Last Guy. [1][2] It was developed by Nobu Funaki, Masataka Hosogane, and Hiroki Nakamura. [3][4][5][6][7]
The website allowed players to play a simplified version of the original PS3 game using any website as the stage. [8] Upon inputting the desired website, a playable map based on said website would be generated, with features like images being turned into buildings. [9][10] Players would control the titular character by moving the mouse, with the mouse scroll being used to zoom in and out of the map. [11] Just like the original game, players would rescue survivors by taking them out of their hiding spots and relocating them to the "Escape Zone", while avoiding enemy Zombies. [12] Pressing the space bar would activate the "heat camera" function from the original game, used to locate people within buildings. [13]
Player scores were globally ranked on a leaderboard, along with a poll of the recently played websites. [14]
The website offered a bookmark so that players could activate the game at any time, along with a blog widget that could allow specific sites to activate the game's function. [15][16][17][18][19][20]
